OVERVIEW: This Christmas scavenger hunt is designed with a house full of kids in mind. Your group will be divided into teams of up to 6 kids each. Each team will receive a collection bag containing the rules of the game, the game instructions and challenges, and other supplies. There are three parts to this game, and you may choose to skip a component, depending on who much time you have. Part One: The Scavenger Hunt RUDOLPH is missing and it is almost Christmas Eve! Santa has asked the teams to try to find him! The children will follow clues* to find 10 little gift boxes that are hidden around your house, yard, and/or neighborhood. In each box is a clue to find Rudolph. The goal is for the teams to figure out the clues and be the first to figure out where Rudolph is. We provide an alternate location list just in case you need it. Alternate idea if Santa and Rudolph won't work for you: Frosty the Snowman has lost his magic hat and will melt without it. Can you find it for him? Clue example: In 'Twas the Night Before Christmas, where were the children nestled? (Hide the gift boxes in a bed under the covers or under a pillow.) Part Two: “Name That Tune...” Inside of their collection bag, the teams will find a sheet with silly pictures. They will look at the pictures and try to determine which Christmas songs are being represented. Points are given for each correct song named. Part Three: The Projects The children will end the hunt by completing various Christmas projects. There are 3 projects; you can choose to do 1, 2 or all 3. One project example is to decorate a gingerbread house as a team. To customize the scavenger hunt, you can easily add additional items, pictures and projects to the list. Use our ideas as templates for your own hunt. NUMBER OF TEAMS or PARTICIPANTS: Unlimited. Recommended minimum per team: 3. Maximum: 8.
LENGTH OF THE HUNT: About 1 ½ hours plus an additional 10-15 minutes to add scores, determine winners, and give out prizes. You can choose to leave out or add certain activities based on your time frame. PRE-HUNT PREP TIME: For up to 6 teams, you can put our Christmas scavenger hunt together in about 6 hours ; as you add teams, you'll need to add time to the pre-hunt prep. You mostly need to print the documents included with the kit, pack the collection bags and you'll need to shop for team prizes as well as other inexpensive supplies like clipboards, small gift boxes, project supplies and such. Our facilitator guide provides a supply checklist for you. THIS CHRISTMAS SCAVENGER HUNT INCLUDES FRIENDLY, HELPFUL SUPPORT ALONG WITH MASTER COPIES OF:
